Matt Ford is Managing Director of the Center for Offsite Construction at the New York Institute of Technology, where he helps lead the Center’s research, standards, institutional partnerships, and public-facing Future of Design & Delivery work. His work focuses on translating the CfOC’s theory of change into practical infrastructure for a configure-to-order construction marketplace, including standards, educational pathways, research projects, and industry-facing publications.

At the CfOC, Matt serves as Co-Chair of the CfOC–ICC 1220 standards-development process, a proposed consensus standard addressing the configurations and connections through which offsite-constructed products connect to host buildings. He has also played a central role in shaping the CfOC Research Roadmap, which organizes the Center’s work around physical interface standards, digital infrastructure, contracts, accreditation, and the institutional systems needed to support interoperable offsite construction.

Matt also helped advance the formation of the Accrediting Board for Offsite Education (ABOCE), a new nonprofit accreditation body created to support offsite-construction education and alternate pathways into the future design-and-delivery workforce. Across these efforts, he works at the intersection of research coordination, standards development, institutional design, and industry engagement.
