Kyle Gilham, MBA, is a Director and co-founder of Cascadia Structural Timber Solutions, where he works to transform mass-timber fabrication through productization, standardization, and manufacturing-informed design. With more than 20 years of experience in mass timber and a background in mechanical engineering, Lean manufacturing, and industrialized construction, Kyle has focused on balancing design flexibility with the repeatability required for efficient production. His recent work includes developing standardized, configurable mass-timber products and digital tools that embed engineering, manufacturing constraints, and pricing information earlier in the design process.

As a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Offsite Construction, Kyle brings the perspective of a manufacturer actively working through the transition from project-specific fabrication toward repeatable building products. His work explores how Design for Manufacturing, standardized components and connections, digital product definitions, and real-time production data can shorten lead times and give designers and builders greater cost and schedule certainty. At Cascadia, these ideas are being applied to products including standardized timber trusses, beams, columns, and connections—providing a practical case study in how industrialized-construction principles can reshape a traditional building-material supply chain.
