Josh Lobel is Industry Strategy Manager for Industrialized Construction at Autodesk, where he works with owners, designers, builders, and manufacturers to advance more productive and scalable approaches to building delivery. With more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of architecture, engineering, construction, and technology, Josh has worked extensively with computational and generative design, prefabrication and offsite construction, Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), and the digital workflows needed to connect design with manufacturing. His work increasingly focuses on productization—helping the industry move from project-specific solutions toward repeatable, configurable building systems.

As a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Offsite Construction, Josh brings a technology-strategy perspective to the institutional and technical changes required to industrialize construction at scale. He contributes to industry research and collaboration beyond CfOC as well, including work with the Construction Industry Institute and BioPhorum, and regularly speaks on the evolving relationship among design, manufacturing, data, and project delivery. Josh holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and a Master of Science in Architectural Studies in Design Computation from MIT, where his graduate work received the S.M.Arch.S. Thesis Award.
