Jason Van Nest is Executive Director of the Center for Offsite Construction at the New York Institute of Technology, where he leads the Center’s work to build the shared standards, institutional infrastructure, and research agenda needed for a configure-to-order construction marketplace. His work focuses on the transition from bespoke, engineer-to-order project delivery toward interoperable systems of products, interfaces, contracts, and educational pathways.

At the CfOC, Jason chairs the CfOC–ICC 1220 standards-development process, a proposed consensus standard for the configurations and connections through which offsite-constructed products connect to host buildings. He also helped found the Accrediting Board for Offsite Education (ABOCE), a new nonprofit accreditation body created to support offsite-construction education and alternate pathways into the future design-and-delivery workforce.

Jason is a frequent convener and public moderator in the offsite-construction sector, including at national events such as Advancing Prefab. He has also served as a judge for Ulster County housing-design work and participates in industry efforts connecting housing policy, productization, manufacturing logic, and construction standards. Separate from his CfOC work, he is also the founder of Logic Building Systems.
